　　故事根據(jù)60歲的出租車司機Kempton Bunton在1961年從倫敦國家美術(shù)館偷走了一幅戈雅的畫的真實故事改編。Bunton發(fā)了一封勒索信說，只有在英國政府同意為老年人提供免費電視的條件下，他才會退還畫作。 然而，事實證明他正在撒謊，在接下來的50年里，他都沒有出現(xiàn)。該事件也是國家美術(shù)館歷史上首次也是唯一一次盜竊事件。
