1980年代，某俱寂的殘舊古堡。數年一貫制的無聊生活讓盛勤（吳玉芳 飾）忘卻了外面的世界，她已陪父（江俊 飾）母（嚴麗秋 飾）、伯父（袁之運 飾）和姑媽（吳云芳 飾）在這個封閉的古堡里生活了二十六年。偶然間，她結識了機電廠廠長歐陽城（盧君 飾），歐的到來使古堡內出現了從未有過的青春活力，昔日循規蹈矩的生活不復存在。歐幫盛勤擺脫繁重的家務去補習文化，讓其伯父到飯店發揮特長，還幫姑媽找到了晚伴，并使自尊心頗強的母親也發生了很大變化。父親忍受不了這個突然將平靜生活打亂的青年人，將歐和盛雙雙趕出古堡。經過一段時間的相處，性格的使然還是讓盛勤選擇了與歐分手。當她返回古堡，家中的變化令她詫異......
