 周蓮（史鐘麒 飾）是一位優秀的畫家，在他的畫展上，一位專心臨摹丹鳳國畫的少女的身影吸引了他的注意，這個女孩名叫盧文鳳（陳燁 飾），是蘇州名繡梅香園盧繡嫡派繼承人盧元鳳（顧偉 飾）的妹妹。因為蘇州繡霸趙成（黃邦瑞 飾）的迫害，盧元鳳的丈夫去世了，如今，姐妹兩人帶著孩子小鳳過著相依為命十分辛苦的生活。為了不讓手藝失傳，盧元鳳希望盧文鳳能夠前往蘇南美專深造，巧合的是，負責教導她的，正是周蓮，而美專的校董則是盧家的仇人趙成。得此機會，趙成當然不會放過盧元鳳，在他的設計之下，盧元鳳受辱自殺，而盧文鳳在絕望之中選擇帶著小鳳躲進了荒野之中，過起了離群索居的生活。
