　　Ronald Miller is tired of being a nerd, and makes a deal with one of the most popular girls in school to help him break into the "cool" clique. 　　本片改編自曾獲得讀賣文學(xué)獎戲曲·劇本獎的松田正隆所著舞臺劇，以不下雨的長崎夏天為舞臺，講述了主人公·小浦治（小田切讓 飾）因兒子去世的喪失感而停止了人生時間的故事。被妻子惠子（松隆子 飾）拋棄的他，和妹妹阿佐子（滿島光 飾）留下的17歲侄女優(yōu)子（高石明里 飾）開始共同生活，故事由此展開。治在惠子去接兒子牌位的時候隱約注意到了他工作過的造船廠同事陣野（森山直太朗 飾）和持田（光石研 飾），優(yōu)子在打工的地方結(jié)識了前輩立山（高橋文哉 飾）。失去愛的男人，放棄愛的女人，以及不懂愛的少女。每個人在面對各自苦楚的同時，在如夏日沙石般干涸的心中，發(fā)現(xiàn)了小小的希望之芽。
