漫長的沉默之路

　　Not far down the highway from his childhood home in Texas, Nathan’s car breaks down on the drive to his freshman year of art school in Los Angeles. Richard, a local mechanic, agrees to fix the car as long as Nathan helps Richard escape his bastard of a boss. On the way out of town, Richard pounds a road beer or three, sparks a joint, and begins to question why young Nathan is lacking a clear philosophy about the rest of his life. As they venture on, these two strangers will battle through bar fights, heartache, and many more unfortunate detours to make it to their next destinations in life.

 本片根據(jù)彭德懷元帥青年時期事跡改編。湖南伢子朱華（金鑫 飾）因遭鄉(xiāng)紳土豪緝拿，只身投奔湘軍，不久升任排長，后因故被胡淵（白志迪 飾）保薦進(jìn)講武堂學(xué)習(xí)。在講武堂，朱華巧遇地下黨員程康（唐國強(qiáng) 飾），耿直的朱華見程康和惡霸之女胡湘玉（黃梅瑩 飾）挽行心懷不滿，但他不知胡湘玉也是地下黨，是專程來刺殺軍閥吳佩孚的特使。朱華的誤解導(dǎo)致行刺失敗，胡被捕入獄，朱華知悉懊悔萬分。畢業(yè)后朱華升為連長，隨北伐軍攻打武昌時，再次碰見程康，在程的開導(dǎo)下，他決定跟共產(chǎn)黨走。胡湘玉在“馬日事變”中受傷，臨終前叮囑朱華不要再對國民黨心存幻想。朱華系上紅領(lǐng)帶，決定率部起義......本片榮獲1981年度文化部“優(yōu)秀影片獎”。
