The story follows the wanderings of a hero through the situations of survival. People wait for the Ark to arrive and rescue them while their habitat falls apart. Delving deep into the dusty and long abandonded vaults of b-cinema in search of lost gems always leaves me with a bittersweet taste. On one hand the discovery of unexpected gems where no one would think them possible is a rewarding experience. On the other hand though it makes one wonder how many of these remarkable low-budget oddities, personal love affairs of directors never quite famous and now all but forgotten, have almost forever slipped from memory? n any case what we have here is a little post-apocalyptic gem from Poland that is really better than it has any right to. The dystopian near future of O-BI, O-BA finds a group of survivors of the nuclear war that ravaged the Earth inhabiting an underworld concrete bunker and biding their time as they wait for the mysterious Ark, an air ship of some kind that will come and save them. The Ark proves to be an elaborate hoax, carefully designed to give hope to the malnourished and desperate denizens of the bunker, while in the meantime the dome that separates their miserable existence from the nuclear winter outside is slowly caving in. What first striked me about the movie is the design of the bunker and the depiction of the survivors. The survivors are gaunt, filthy and terrible-looking penitents, dressed in rags and aimlessly wandering the neon-lit halls of the bunker like automatons. The bunker is a rundown, seedy place, with bright neon lights peering from all sides like the eyes of malignant beasts. On one hand it is a slightly 80's depiction of the dystopian future but the movie never stoops down to MAD MAX cheese. Instead it combines biting political satire with the bleak outlook of a world with no future, black comedy with barbs on apathy, religion and power. The survivors, for example, are fed some kind of flour dropping from a tube that hovers in the air - later on we discover the food supervisor uses books and the Bible itself as filler for this meagre meal. There are many such short symbolic touches, perhaps not life-changing or faith-restoring, yet playful, clever and inspired. One thing is for sure; O-BI, O-BA is not your run-of-the-mill sci-fi schlock. It overcomes its modest budget with creativity and has genuine artistic aspirations both from a writing and directing perspective. My opinion is that it should have been filmed in black and white instead of colour though. The director uses atmospheric light and shadow to great effect and it would have registered even better in stark black and white. The blue-green neon on the other hand outstays its welcome after a while. Just a minor gripe in an otherwise solid b-movie with its heart set in all the right places. Imagine a less bleak THE ROAD (Cormac McCarthy) being injected with the satire and humour of DR.STRANGELOVE and you're getting there. See it if you can find it.

Rex Allen,Joe Way【小熊歷險(xiǎn)記】（YellowstoneCubs）是迪斯尼1963年推出的一部TV電影，早年迪斯尼曾經(jīng)拍過(guò)一系列以真實(shí)動(dòng)物為主角的紀(jì)錄片『真實(shí)世界歷險(xiǎn)記』，后來(lái)迪斯尼又于1957年時(shí)推出了一部有劇情的野外紀(jì)實(shí)片【小松鼠】（Perri），但這些當(dāng)時(shí)都是在戲院首度推出的電影。到了迪斯尼開始用心經(jīng)營(yíng)電視頻道，跟美國(guó)ABC頻道買下時(shí)段制播專門的TV電影（『迪斯尼奇妙世界』系列作品），【小熊歷險(xiǎn)記】也是其中之一，但這片卻是跟【小松鼠】同樣的野外紀(jì)實(shí)動(dòng)物劇情片。 像【小熊歷險(xiǎn)記】這樣的野外紀(jì)實(shí)劇情片拍攝起來(lái)是十分困難的，不但必須像拍攝紀(jì)錄片般從旁捕捉鏡頭，還要加上想像力敘述成一個(gè)吸引人的故事。【小熊歷險(xiǎn)記】故事就是關(guān)于黃石公園里的兩只小黑熊Tuffy和Tubby，他們意外跟熊媽媽走散了，于是整個(gè)夏季就在黃石公園里四處冒險(xiǎn)，希望能和媽媽重逢，另一方面，熊媽媽也在找尋她的兩位小寶貝，跟隨他們留下的足跡尋覓而來(lái)。 【小熊歷險(xiǎn)記】全片都是在美國(guó)黃石公園中實(shí)地拍攝，由Charles L. Draper擔(dān)任執(zhí)導(dǎo)，劇本則是由Ralph Wright所完成，全片是由Rex Allen負(fù)責(zé)旁白敘述故事，配樂則是由曾經(jīng)配樂過(guò)許多部早年迪斯尼電影的Paul J. Smith所負(fù)責(zé)。本片并沒有在美國(guó)的一般市面上發(fā)行影音產(chǎn)品，而是只有推出給迪斯尼電影俱樂部的會(huì)員獨(dú)家訂購(gòu)而已。 【小熊歷險(xiǎn)記】在臺(tái)灣沒有發(fā)行過(guò)任何影音產(chǎn)品，也還未曾在臺(tái)灣的迪士尼頻道上播出過(guò)。
